Dental Implants
A dental implant is a support structure that connects with the bone of the jaw or skull to support a dental attachment such as a crown, bridge, denture etc.
The implant is first placed so that it is likely to integrate with the jaw, then a dental attachment is added. Some healing time is required for the implant to settle in, before the dental attachment (a tooth, bridge or denture) is added on the implant.
The final attachment can be either fixed, where a person cannot remove the denture or teeth from their mouth, or removable, where they can remove the attachment.
